This week we read the 'whole school' book 'I Got the Christmas Spirit' about a girl enjoying the sights and sounds of the holiday season. We talked about the sounds, food, decorations and people that we get to hear, taste and see at Christmas. The children talked about what they are looking forward to and drew beautiful 'Christmas Spirit' pictures.
In Maths we have been learning about the numbers four and five. We explored how to make four and five in different ways. We used two groups of coloured counters on a five frame to show the different ways to make five. For example, "2 and 3 makes 5" or "2 and 3 is equal to 5".
We have been busy preparing our Christmas decorations to go on our festive hoops to decorate the main hall. We used salt dough to cut out a shape and decorated them with paint and glitter. They look amazing! We are giving them time to dry before adding them to the hoops so they can go up next week, ready for the first nativity shows! We have been practicing our lines for our show. Please continue to do this at home this week so the children feel confident with their lines.
At choosing time we have enjoyed reading and making stories, Duplo, Mobilo and mixing coloured water in the investigation area.
