Dear Parents/carers - Please visit the Lambeth website to apply for a place in the Reception classes at St Mary's for the 2023 academic year. If your child is currently in the Nursery, an application will still need to be made as places in Reception are not automatically granted. Thank you.
Teacher
Our teacher is Ms L Ohene-Djan and our teaching assistants are called Miss Annie and Miss Deans. We love choosing activities both in the classroom and our outdoor learning area. We experiment and explore whilst asking questions and making observations to help us develop in all areas of the curriculum.
In Nursery, we learn by choosing our own activities. Leading our own play helps us identify our interests, making our learning more engaging. We also take part in play guided by Ms L Ohene-Djan, Miss Annie and Miss Deans who help us develop the necessary skills for Reception.
Events
EYFS Curriculum
In Nursery there are 7 areas of learning - the prime areas and specific areas.
The prime areas underpin all that we do in the EYFS. These areas lay the foundations for a child's success in all areas of learning. In Nursery we focus on the prime areas first.
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
The specific areas provide the experiences and opportunities to broaden your child's skills and knowledge.
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Important Days
PE is on Wednesday each week.
Messages
With Winter just around the corner, we ask that your child comes to school dressed appropriately for outdoor learning. If your child comes to school in wellington boots, please send a pair of shoes in their bag for inside learning.
Contact
I am available at the end of the day if you would like to speak to me about anything. Alternatively you can email the school via office@st-marys.lambeth.sch.uk. I will aim to reply within a 72 hour period.
