Welcome to the Year 5 and 6 class page. I am the class teacher, Mr Rodger. You will find out key information about the weekly timetable and routines below. PE days take place on Tuesday and Thursday. Currently, the children are learning gymnastics.
Year 6 SATs Week
- Monday 8th May - Bank Holiday for coronation, school closed to all
- Tuesday 9th May - Year 6 SATs week commences, Grammar and Spelling papers
- Wednesday 10th May - Reading paper
- Thursday 11th May - Arithmetic 1 and Reasoning 2 papers
- Friday 12th May - Reasoning 3 paper
PE Kit
Children are now allowed to wear their PE kit to school on the days that they have PE. Please ensure your child has the correct PE kit which consists of a white t-shirt, navy shorts and plimsoles or trainers. During the colder weather your child should wear the School PE jumper.
If your child has to attend an event such as Mass or go on a school trip, they will be required to wear their school uniform on that day. PE kit should be brought to school and children will change for their PE lesson accordingly.
If your child has a club before school, uniform should be brought to change into, once the club has finished.
If your child has a club after school and it is not a PE day, uniform should be worn as normal and PE kit should be brought to change into before the club begins.
Homework
Homework is assigned on Monday (Mathletics and spellings), Wednesday (maths and English/topic) and Friday (maths and English/topic). Homework is to be handed in 2 days after being assigned. Homework should take no longer than thirty minutes and should consolidate what the children have already practised in class or be a continuation of what has been started already.
